In LimboWednesday, October 7, 2015
Obi Anyadike, IRIN's editor-at-large, met Lucky, better known as Biggy, in Nador, Morocco. He had set out to reach Europe from Nigeria, four years ago, by is now stuck. His journey had taken him across the Sahara and on to Nador, bordering the Spanish enclave of Melilla. He’s in touching distance of his goal, but Moroccan and Spanish border guards stop all attempts at crossing – and he’s tried many times. For four years Biggy has lived in a tent in the mountains outside Nador. Unable to go forward, unwilling to admit defeat and go home, his life in limbo.
