Nearly 25% of babies in a recent study were born with uncommon mutations

    Nearly 25% of babies in a recent study were born with uncommon mutations of drug-resistant HIV. Many tests cannot identify such strains, according to The Journal of Infectious Diseases, and treating such infants with certain ARVs contributes to the development of drug-resistant strains and limit’s children’s treatment options later in life.
