Afghan IDPs need immediate assistance – Amnesty

UNHCR says there are over 230,000 IDPs across Afghanistan Masoud Popalzai/IRIN
Tens of thousands of people displaced by armed conflict across Afghanistan require immediate humanitarian assistance and aid agencies must deliver essential food, basic shelter and medical services, London-based NGO Amnesty International said in a statement.

The rights watchdog also called on all warring parties to facilitate safe passage of impartial humanitarian assistance to civilians lacking supplies and services essential for their survival.
