Taiwan to invest US $85 million

Taiwan’s Nien Hsing Textile company has signed an agreement with the Swaziland government to build three textile plants in the country costing US $85 million, media reports said on Wednesday. The three denim plants - to be built in the Matsapha industrial zone next May - are expected to produce 1.08 million pairs of jeans and 2.2 million yards of denim each month. A foreign ministry official said: “The investment project will strengthen economic ties between the two states,” adding that about 4,500 jobs will be created.
