Relief groups complain of harassment by CDF

While Sierra Leone’s Southern Province continues to be free of fighting, humanitarian agencies are constrained by the “ongoing harassment by the CDF, especially with respect to vehicle commandeering”, OCHA said in its 26 June - 9 July situation report. OCHA also said that children were reportedly being recruited into the Kamajor society, the main group in the CDF, in the southern area of Moyamba. UNICEF and CARITAS met with the Chairman of the Commission for the Consolidation of Peace, Johnny Paul Koroma, to voice their opposition to the continuing use of children in Sierra Leone’s conflict.
