Buyoya condemns attacks on USA

Following the attacks on the World Trade Center building in New York and the Pentagon in Washington, Burundi President Pierre Buyoya on Monday addressed a condolence message to US President George W. Bush and the American people. In a message read Tuesday on Radio Burundi in Bujumbura, Buyoya said “at this moment of very great hardships for the US administration and the American people, we join the voice of the Burundi people, that of their government and mine to those of many others, to offer our most grieved condolences and condemn with all our energies that unspeakable barbarity.” Buyoya also extended his condolences to all bereaved families.
