Goma-based rebels launch recruitment drive

The Goma-based rebels of the Rassemblement congolais pour la democratie (RCD-Goma) have launched a recruitment drive with the hope of attracting young soldiers and paramilitaries into the rebel ranks, AFP reported. The recruitment is being carried out in Walikale in the eastern province of north Kivu, AFP quoted RCD officials as saying on Monday. The recruitment reportedly aims at attracting some 5,000 young soldiers to serve under the flag of Walikale territory.
