Short arrives in Kigali

British Secretary of State, Clare Short, arrived in Kigali, Rwanda on Thursday for a one-day visit, Rwandan News Agency (RNA) reported. “The purpose of the visit is to hold discussions with the Rwandan President Paul Kagame on the Lusaka peace process, on how Rwandan society is developing and the role of the United Kingdom Department of International Development (DFID) in supporting Rwanda’s progress,” RNA quoted a statement from the British embassy in Kigali as saying. She was scheduled to meet the country’s finance minister and other government officials, including the civil society and the international community.
