Development minister launches anti-poverty project

The Senegalese Minister for Social Development, Aminata Tall, has launched a CFA 15-billion (US $19 million) anti-poverty project in the southeastern region of Tambacounda, ‘Le Soleil’ reported on Friday. The five-year project targets women, young people, disabled persons and elderly people living in some of the poorest regions of the country, the daily reported Tall as saying. The project, funded by the African Development Fund, Scandinavian governments and the Senegalese state, is also being implemented in the capital, Dakar, and the towns of Thies, Diourbel and Kolda.
