Agreement to resolve Kisangani fallout

Museveni and Kagame also agreed to encourage the work of their Permanent Joint Commission set up to resolve the conflict resulting from the Kisangani clashes. In an interview with the ‘Sunday Vision’, Museveni’s brother Major General Caleb Akandwahaho (Salim Saleh) said the two countries agreed to urge the relevant committees to finalise their findings as quickly as possible and submit them to the commission. “We are very optimistic that these problems will be over,” said Saleh, who attended Friday’s talks. “Tactical differences did not obstruct the overall strategic aims,” he added.
