Kabila discusses bilateral ties with ROC counterpart

President Joseph Kabila of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) travelled to neighbouring Brazzaville, Republic of Congo (ROC) on Wednesday to meet President Denis Sassou-Nguesso for talks on bilateral ties between the two nations. Radio Congo in Brazzaville said that Kabila’s visit was meant “to put an end to rumours circulating on both sides of the [Congo] river as well as to dispel rumours of a climate of suspicion between the two Congos.” The report also highlighted Sassou-Nguesso’s work on behalf of peace and security in the DRC because “when Kinshasa sneezes, Brazzaville catches a cold.”
