ADB grants US 1.37m for rural development

The African Development Fund, an arm of the African Development Bank, has approved a grant of roughly US $1.37 million to Guinea-Bissau for rural development instructional support. “The object of the project is to contribute to poverty reduction,” the ADB reported. The project will try to do so by strengthening the government’s manpower skills and those of NGO in charge of rural development. To this aim, the project will train 315 staff, 205 of whom will be government workers and the rest head of NGO. The project will also develop a training programme, improve the manuals of administrative rules and procedures, and introduce administrative and organizational communications system.
