New entry rule for foreign reporters

The Zimbabwean government said on Wednesday that foreign journalists wishing to cover events in the country would be required to seek government approval a month in advance, Reuters reported. “Travel arrangements should only start after a clear indication from the department on the accreditation status of applicants,” the state news agency ZIANA quoted George Charamba, the information ministry permanent secretary as saying. “The applications must be made at least a month before the proposed visit.”
