DRC President Joseph Kabila on Saturday announced his new government which sees the departure of stalwarts of his father, Laurent-Desire Kabila’s, regime such as Interior Minister Gaetan Kakudji, Education Minister Abdoulaye Yerodia Ndombasi, Information Minister Dominique Sakombi and Minister without Portfolio Victor Mpoyo. The new line-up follows Kabila’s sacking of the entire government earlier this month. The decree announcing the new government was read out over DRC state television by Didier Mumengi, secretary to the office of the president. Notables among those who remain in the 25-member government are Foreign Minister Leonard She Okitundu and former justice minister Mwenze Kongolo, now minister of national security - a newly created post.
