Sir Ketumile Masire to hold talks with Kabila

Former Botswana president Sir Ketumile Masire heads for Kinshasa on Saturday at the invitation of Democractic Republic of Congo (DRC) President Joseph Kabila. Masire said in a statement on Thursday that the talks would centre on the Inter-Congolese Dialogue which he facilitates. "One can't say much at this stage in the process. We are, however, much encouraged by President Kabila's invitation," Masire said, adding that he would meet armed opposition groups in northern and eastern DRC after his discussion with Kabila. Masire said he expected the talks to breathe a new lease of life into the Congolese peace process.
