The mission comprises representatives of 10 UN departments and agencies and the Economic Community of West African States. The delegation arrived on Tuesday in the capital, Dakar. It has had discussions with various political and civil society leaders and was scheduled to meet President Abdoulaye Wade on Thursday. The mission’s second leg begins on Friday in Nigeria.
