Seminar on reintegration of IDPs held

Burundi’s Ministry of Reinsertion, Reinstallation and Repatriation recently organised a three-day workshop in Bujumbura on the reinstallation of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and affected populations within the country. According to a humanitarian source the objective of the seminar was to “sensitise and mobilise” all concerned partners on the return of refugees and to define an operational plan of actions which would include all types of activities. Civil and political strife has led to thousands of Burundians fleeing to neighbouring countries and to the diaspora. Tanzania alone, hosts more than 450,000 Burundians in various refugee camps. Rebel attacks in several parts of the country have led to more displacement.
