UPRONA faction leader calls for dissolution of FRODEBU

The leader one of the UPRONA factions, Charles Mukasi, on Monday called for the dissolution of the FRODEBU party, saying that “no country in the world should be governed by a party accused of genocide”. Burundi news agency, Net Press, quoted Mukasi as saying that FRODEBU and its subsidiary parties planned genocide in Burundi. To him, the Arusha talks were a “betrayal” which needed to be “fought”. Mukasi accordingly called on all political parties, development and religious organisations, workers, students and security forces to do their best to restore the law and order in Burundi, adding that this was “the only way to save the country”.
