Botswana’s health minister, Joy Phumaphi has warned that two-thirds of the country’s youth could be wiped out by AIDS before they reach the age of 40 if there is no change in reckless sexual behaviour.
PANA reported that Phumaphi, who was quoting a survey by her ministry, also said that the HIV/AIDS prevalence among pregnant women in some parts of the country topped 50 percent.
Phumaphi said it is likely that a third of the infected women would pass the deadly virus to their unborn children.
