New Prime Minister.

The speaker of Togo's parliament, Kodjo Agbeyome, has been appointed prime minister following the resignation at the weekend of his predecessor, Eugene Adboli. Kodjo, considered close to President Gnassingbe Eyadema, was once minister of home affairs, according to The Republic of Togo website. Other posts he has held include director general of Lome port. His predecessor resigned after the national assembly passed a vote of no confidence against him on Thursday, the first time this has occurred since independence four decades ago, according to news organisations.
