Most of the eight million small arms manufactured every year fall into the hands of civilians. An international campaign has been launched to try to stop this deadly proliferation of weapons. In this programme, IRIN Radio hears from Somali communities in north-eastern Kenya about the devastating effects of guns on their lives.
