AIDS workshop to benefit government officials

African government officials are set to benefit from a UN HIV/AIDS workshop which kicked off in New York on Monday. The six-day workshop at the UN headquarters aims TO provide officials from the attending 11 African countries with strategies to better understand the demographic aspects of the pandemic. The UN said there was still "much uncertainty surrounding both the estimated prevalence of HIV/AIDS in different populations, and the path it will follow in the future". The workshop will also encourage interactive discussions between trainees and experts on the technical and measurement aspects of HIV/AIDS in relation to populations.
