TAC again attacks Tshabalala-Msimang

    JOHANNESBURG
    South Africa's Treatment Action Campaign (TAC) on Wednesday said Health Minister Manto Tshabalala-Msimang was hiding behind religion while people died of AIDS-related illnesses. At the launch of her "Faith In Action United Response to HIV/AIDS" initiative on Monday, Tshabalala-Msimang said HIV/AIDS was "God's way of challenging people to provide care and support, and appreciate the gift of life". "The health minister is using religion to draw attention away from her duty to provide a national HIV/AIDS treatment plan," TAC national manager, Nathan Geffen, told the UN news service PlusNews. TAC launched a civil diobedience campaign against the government in March to demand free HIV/AIDS drugs and a treatment plan.
