Transitional VP leaves for South Africa

Future Burundi vice-president of the first term of the transitional period Domitien Ndayizeye flew to Johannesburg, South Africa on Thursday to meet the Burundi conflict facilitator and former South African President Nelson Mandela, Burundi news agency Net Press reported. Ndayizeye is accompanied by Charles Karikurubu, an adviser. Net Press cited sources as stating that the transitional VP was due to brief Mandela regarding ongoing negotiations concerning the establishment of the transitional government and other transitional institutions.
