Namibia's Nujoma due in Nigeria to meet Obasanjo

Namibia's President Sam Nujoma was expected to pay a brief visit to the Nigerian capital Abuja on Friday for talks with his Nigerian counterpart Olusegun Obasanjo, AFP reported. The purpose of the talks was not disclosed but commentators said the two men were likely to discuss the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) following the change in leadership there. Namibia is one of the countries involved in the war in the DRC where new president Joseph Kabila has pledged to restore peace. Nigeria has pledged to send peacekeeping troops to the DRC if a peace agreement can be made to stick.
