South Kivu exiles urged to return

The governor of South Kivu has appealed to citizens of the province, living abroad, to return and help with its reconstruction. In a message, received by IRIN on Friday, Governor Norbert Katintima said returnees would not be forced to join the governing Rassemblement congolais pour la democratie (RCD), but he urged them to return to their own culture. "We don't think that by living in refugee camps you are contributing to the inter-Congolese dialogue nor to the provincial inter-ethnic dialogue which we hope to launch soon," he said.
