Chiluba appeals to Angola to discuss differences

Zambian President Frederick Chiluba on Thursday called on Angola to discuss their problems at forums set up by the two neighbours, news reports said on Friday. Chiluba cited the Joint Permanent Commission as a forum to discuss any allegations or concerns among them. "We must work consistently together. Angola and Zambia must never look at each other suspiciously. We must strengthen the bond because we stand for one common destiny," Chiluba was quoted as saying. Chiluba said if the two countries failed to hold bilateral meetings to discuss their concerns, there would be a breakdown in communication which he said could lead to strained relations. "It will not help if you hear a rumour and you do not discuss it with us. Come back to us and feed us with the information so that the line of suspicion can be cut," Chiluba said.
