Congolese rebel factions congratulate Kagame

Both the Goma and Bunia-based rebel groups have congratulated Major-General Paul Kagame for assuming the Rwandan presidency, Rwandan radio reported. RCD-Goma leader Emile Ilunga said the election of Kagame "constitutes a reliable guarantee for peace and development in the Rwandan nation, and also for the security and stability of the Great Lakes subregion." Professor Ernest Wamba dia Wamba of the RCD- ML in Bunia said Kagame's appointment was a key factor for the return of regional peace. "RCD-ML is strongly determined to cooperate closely with the Rwandan president for the return of peace in the DRC and in the sub-region," Wamba said, according to the radio.
