Army acquires helicopters

The Swaziland Defence Force last week acquired three helicopters from the South African National Defence Force to help in crime fighting. The three Allouttee choppers, which were being phased out by the SANDF, would be converted from military to civilian use at a cost of US $1.6 million, which would include their refurbishment and the training of pilots and technicians to maintain them. The reports added that it would have cost Swaziland about US $5.6 million to acquire one new helicopter.
