Zimbabwe defence minister in Angola for military talks

The Zimbabwean minister of defence, Moven Mahachi is in Angola on a three-day visit to discuss military cooperation between the two countries and the conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). According to media reports, Mahachi did not give any further details of his talks with the Angolan government. He was quoted as saying that the two countries had no intention of withdrawing their intervention forces from the DRC. Macachi’s visit to Angola comes shortly after news reports claiming that the Zimbabwean government had provided troops to the Angolan government to help it in its war against the UNITA rebel movement.
