Update on SA flood relief

A spokesperson for the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) told IRIN on Tuesday that it had delivered enough food to flood-hit Mozambique for at least 45 days. He said that a decision would be taken on Tuesday as to when the SANDF would withdraw from the area. The SANDF said that most of the food supplies went to people in the Vilankulos area which has been the hardest hit since flooding began in Mozambique about four weeks ago. The spokesperson confirmed that the SANDF had also delivered medical supplies to the region.
