Missioni Arlindo is an African migrant who has been waiting to get inmigration status in Mexico for several months, to continue his journey to the US border. Like most Africans in Tapachula, Arlindo had to travel from Africa to South America until he reached the border of Colombia with Panama, where he was forced to cross the Darian on foot, a jungle that separates both countries.
This is the hardest part of the whole trip, some die when they are bitten by snakes, others are victims of the organized crime that operates in the area that robes them, rapes women and sometimes even kills them. Others die when they are dragged by rivers or are unable to continue walking. Once they cross the Darien they continue their journey through Central America until they reach Mexico. - Credits Encarni Pindado/TNH
