The official Iranian news agency, IRNA, reported on Tuesday that Taliban jets had carried out bombing operations against military bases of the Northern Alliance in Jabl-us-Siraj, north of Kabul, inflicting heavy losses. United Front officials, while confirming the attack, however, denied that their forces received any losses. Independent Afghan sources predict that the bombing of Jabl-us-Siraj may be a prelude for the Taliban’s onslaught on Panjsher.
