Zaumala Ali Ibrahim and wife Waslame Ali and their eight children are originally from Hajjah province, Yemen. They were displaced to Amran governorate two years ago when the war reached their doorstep. Before being displaced, the couple’s daughter was killed when she was hit by airstrikes during a visit to the local market. They managed to bury her before fleeing their home, leaving everything behind except the clothes on their backs. “I didn’t know whether to run after my other children or attend to my daughter,” Zaumala said.
