In May 2016, Conflict Armament Research conducted an inspection of equipment in the possession of SPLA 4th Division in Rubkona, South Sudan, that had reportedly been captured from the SPLA-IO in Panakuach, along the border with Sudan, in mid-2015. Factory-code ‘116’ is used by the Sudanese Military Industry Corporation (MIC). The code ’03 14’ suggests the bombs inspected are part of the 2014 production and belong to manufacture-lot number 3. ‘60’ indicates the calibre of the bombs (for 60.75 mm mortars tubes manufactured under the name of ‘Nimir mortars’ by the Sudanese industry). ‘TD-30’ and ‘D821’ refers to the name of the model of this specific ammunition (originally used by the Bulgarian industry that developed this item in the first place).
