  • A soldier from the Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF) who lost a leg during a military operation against the Burmese army is comforted by friends in a field hospital. The Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF) was created in May 2021, a few months after the coup perpetrated by the Burmese military. The KNDF, mostly constituted of local young civilians, claims to have a force of 7,500 men and women and is divided in 21 battalions.
