The surviving members of the Alali family in their sparsely furnished living room. The Norwegian Refugee Council moved them into this apartment in Thessaloniki after the family had spent months sleeping in a warehouse, then in a tent camp and then a hotel. A year after the closure of Greece's border with Macedonia in March 2016, 28,000 asylum seekers are still living in temporary camps on Greece's mainland.
