Since his house was flooded, Stanislas Begia, 40, sleeps outside with his wife and eight children. Meters away from his home, a path of ground is left dry. Risking to be dislodged if the inundations grows, he still prefers to stay there, fearing robbery if he went away from his home. "We will not have aid from the government," he says discouraged. "Our State could be called eat-it-all. No support will get to us if it goes through the government's hands."
