Outlawed opposition to stage protest at Commonwealth summit

An outlawed opposition party in Swaziland has said it plans to stage an anti-government protest next month at the Commonwealth summit meeting in the east coast South African city of Durban, the South African daily, ‘Business Day’, reported on Friday. It said that despite King Mswati III’s urging that they voice their grivances at home, the outlawed People’s United Democratic Party (PUDEMO) had informed Commonwealth Secretary-General Chief Emeka Anyaoku that it planned to protest against “repressive governance” in Swaziland where all political parties were banned by royal decree in 1973.
