Delegates attend peacekeeping meeting

Delegates from Djibouti last week attended a meeting in Tanzania with French and Tanzanian officials to finalise plans for a multinational peacekeeping operation. The week-long Final Planning Conference was the last preparatory phase for the multinational exercise code-named Tanzanite RECAMP 3 to be held in Tanzania next February in which more than 25 countries would participate, AFP reported on Friday. The Reinforce African Peacekeeping Capacities (RECAMP) project is a French initiative designed to enhance the peacekeeping capacity of African soldiers to run alongside the US-led African Crisis Response Initiative, which also aims to improve Africa’s peacekeeping capabilities.
