Banyamulenge call for UN forces

The Banyamulenge organisation, Forces republicaines federalistes (FRF), has issued another urgent appeal to the UN Secretary General, warning of continued repressions and killings against the Banyamulenge in South Kivu. In a statement, received by IRIN, the FRF claimed the Banyamulenge were being systematically killed in South Kivu and called for UN peacekeepers to come and protect them. “Only a UN force can put a stop to the ethnic violence unleashed against the Banymulenge,” the statement said.
