Ruling MPD expels four

Cape Verde’s ruling Movimento para a Democracia (MPD)has expelled four of its members of parliament, majority leader Agostinho Lopes announced on Friday. The four were purged from the party because of their stand during discussions on the privatization of the national fuel supply company Enacol, Lusa said, quoting Lopes. All reportedly back Jacinto Santos, who is challenging Vice Premier Antonio Gualberto do Rosario for the post of party leader in an MPD national convention on 9-11 June.
