Eritrea concedes loss of territory

Yemane Gebreab, head of the political division of Eritrea’s ruling party conceded that Ethiopia had gained some territory, but said it was achieved with a huge loss of life, reports AFP. According to Yemane, Ethiopia’s tactics are to attack with “human waves” of soldiers to gain territory while Eritrea concentrates on inflicting maximum damage on Ethiopian forces while minimizing its own losses, reports AFP. Military experts have said the strategies relect the population differences between the two countries, adds AFP, with the Eritrean population of 3.5 million facing a 60-million-strong enemy.
