Ibrahim Cengis has been unable to work since fleeing his home and carpentry shop in Sur three months ago. In February 2016, it was estimated that between 100,000 and 200,000 people had left their homes and fled recent fighting in southeastern Turkey as government forces battled separatist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) rebels.
