Decontamination activities in Kalunguta health zone, North Kivu province, DRCUNIQUE IDENTIFIER CODE / URN:MSF251952DATE TAKEN / DATE RECORDED24 November, 2018ADDITIONAL INFORMATION / SHOTLIST:Decontamination is an essential step in controlling an Ebola outbreak. Transmitted by bodily fluids, the virus must be destroyed wherever a confirmed patient has passed. This is regularly the case in the health centres in North Kivu that MSF supports and for which its decontamination teams intervene as soon as possible to prevent new infections. In some less accessible areas, the choice was made to train community relays in this practice so that they in turn could put in place these essential protection measures. Report with volunteers from the Congolese Red Cross.
