Border meeting with Sudan ends

Delegates from Ethiopia and Sudan concluded a four-day border-meeting on Friday, announcing that they had agreed on a number of issues designed to boost cross-border trade between the two countries, the pro-government Walta Information Centre reported. The head of the Ethiopian delegation, Yaregal Aysheshum, told Walta that the meeting had focused on identifying cross-border trade points, defining regulations and mechanisms governing trade, and discussing the kinds of commodities that could be traded. Yaregal said a number of cross-border trade points had already been identified for border towns in Tigray and Amhara regional states, and that plans were under way to do the same for Benishangul-Gumuz and Gambela regional states.
