Conflict making increasingly less sense - US ambassador

The new US ambassador to Angola, Christopher Dell, said the ongoing conflict in Angola was making "increasingly less sense", while adding that his government was fully committed to the peace process in Angola, Lusa reported on Wednesday. "There are no reasons for there not being general peace in the country. All Angolans should live with peace and security and, we hope one day, prosperity", Dell told journalists after a meeting with Angolan minister for external relations, Joao Miranda. Dell added that the Angolan peace process had been "strengthened" and that both Washington and Luanda "had worked more seriously" to achieve peace.
