South African defence chief offers military training

Visiting Chief of the South African Defence Force Lt Gen Siphiwe Nyanda last week expressed to DRC chairman of the joint chiefs of staff his country's willingness to contribute to the strengthening of the Congolese military, RTNC TV reported in Kinshasa on Wednesday. During discussions, the officials expressed their desire to see cooperation and collaboration between their forces restored and strengthened, according to RTNC. They also declared their commitment to the restoration of peace and stability in the DRC, as well as to the maintenance of its territorial integrity, RTNC reported.
