Embassy in France set to reopen

Rwanda’s embassy in France is set to reopen, Rwandan President Paul Kagame said recently. “The government has made a decision to reopen the embassy. Initially it had been closed because of some economic problems,” Kagame said during a meeting with Miss France 2000, Sonia Rolland, in Kigali last weekend. “We closed a number of embassies, actually more than 10. But we later on decided that we reopen it,” he added. He noted that the government had forwarded a proposal on who should become its ambassador there. “So we are just waiting for the reply from the authorities in France. So in principle, the embassy is there now,” he said.
