British aid worker among ambush victims

A British aid worker, Charlotte Wilson, was among the 21 people murdered in an ambush by rebels in Burundi last week, AFP reported. Wilson, 27, was working with Voluntary Service Oversees (VSO), a British organisation, as a science teacher at Shyogwe secondary school in neighbouring Rwanda, AFP said. She was among at least 21 people, all civilians except one soldier, who were killed when rebels held up three vehicles near Bujumbura last week. She was in a bus which, along with a lorry and a pick-up truck, were going to Bujumbura when they were stopped by a barricade and passengers ordered out and executed one by one, some 30 km northeast of the capital near Kinama.
